Daren Ames Beattie

Daren Ames Beattie, 58, of New Kensington passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born May 12, 1962 in New Kensington, to the late John and Sylvia Grimm Beattie.

He worked for over 27 years at Smithfield Foods in their meat packing department. Daren had a love for the outdoors, music, attending concerts, playing his guitar, and watching Pittsburgh sports. He enjoyed activities such as hunting, fishing, and camping.   He cherished spending time with his family and watching his Little Buddy. He was the ultimate party planner at which there was always a cake.  Daren was the epitome of a family man, a devoted husband, an exceptional Dad, The World’s Greatest Pappy, and a true Free Bird.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 40 years, Erin  Beattie; daughter, Brooke (Dennis) Robertson; sons, Shane Beattie and William Beattie; and his dog his Baby Girl Maisy; grandsons, Cade and Nolan Robertson; siblings, Darla, Duane (Janene), David, and Johnny K. (Sue); mother-in-law, Carolyn Q.;  sister- in- law Mallory ( George) ; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his son in infancy, Levi James.

Viewing will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, Dec. 23. Rev. Dean Ward will officiate.
