Constance A. "Connie" Leah

Constance A. “Connie” Leah, 91, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 29, 2021. She was born July 30, 1930 in New Kensington to the late William and Freida (Melzer) Heasley.

Connie was a graduate of New Kensington High School Class of 1948. She had a special way of caring for others, which led her to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse, graduating from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Nursing Class of 1951. Anyone that knew Connie knew she was “sharp as a tack”, and her talents knew no bounds, extending into deep culture where she was an accomplished artist and painter, exceptional pianist and seamstress, and cultivated beautiful flower gardens. She cherished cooking, baking, and feeding her family, whom she adored; this truly fed her spirit. Connie will be forever loved and deeply missed for her most giving heart, warmth, and brave humility.

She is survived by her three children, George R. “Jay” (Karen Vogel) Leah Jr. of Lusby, MD, Marce J. (Len) Urbanski, of Natrona Heights, and Geoffrey P. (Tracy) Leah, of Plum; grandchildren, Ryan and Richard (Robin) Urbanski, and Robin and Andrew Leah; and brother, James Heasley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George R. “Ray” Leah Sr.; grandson in infancy, Nicholas Leah; and siblings, Marie Gray, Jane Akins, and Richard Heasley.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Connie to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 730 Church St., New Kensington, PA 15068.

Viewing will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, Nov. 2 in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, Nov. 3 with Rev. Samuel Blair officiating.
