Charles "Ron" Naughton Obituary

Charles Ronald “Ron” Naughton, 76, of Lower Burrell died at his home on Saturday, July 16, 2022.  He was born November 3, 1945, in Harrison Township to the late Walter and Ruth (Clark) Naughton.

Ron was a graduate of Har-Brack High School Class of 1965. He held great respect and love for the red, white, and blue, serving in the United States Army from 1965 until 1974. During his tenure in the service, he was a proud recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.  After being discharged from the Army he remained in Germany from 1974-1984 serving as a laborer working construction, and finally returning to the U. S. working in a factory until his disability in 2001.  A hometown boy at his core, Ron avidly followed the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, but when he wasn’t rooting on the Black & Gold, he could be found swimming across the Allegheny River, and most importantly to him, spending time with his grandchildren and wife. Ron and his late wife, Carmella, loved going to the casino and playing jeopardy, and watching their favorite TV shows together. Affectionately known as “Pap”, he cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom he considered and treated as his own.

Ron will be forever missed by his surviving children; Lisa L. (Martin) Swigart, Joseph F. (Mary Jo) Llewellyn Jr., Helen M. Llewellyn, Steve P. (Jennifer) Llewellyn, Kelly A. (Pete) VanMeter, Karen A. Hans, and Shannon M. (Herb) Gregg; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and cousin, John Clark, of Springhill, FL.

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 28 years, whom he will reunite with and be laid to rest next to, Carmella “Candi” Marie Naughton;, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies; son, John Matthew Llewellyn; grandson, Nicholas Llewellyn; and brothers, Walter and Robert Naughton.
