Carol J. (“Sis” – Spillers) McLaughlin, 87, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2021. She was born November 22, 1933 in New Kensington to the late Clarence Hewell and Dorothy Jean Raught Spillers.
She was a lifelong member of The United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington, where she served as a Deacon and was a member of the Worship and Personnel Committees and the Care Group. She served as secretary for 19 years at the First United Methodist Church in New Kensington, retiring at age 81. She enjoyed puzzles, sewing, and spending time with her family.
She was the loving mother to her daughters, Brenda Lee (David) Capo of New Kensington and Donna Louise McLaughlin of Lower Burrell; loving grandmother to Erika Lee (Nathaniel) Manges; great-grandchildren, Keira Lee Manges and Owen Samuel Manges; and brothers, Jared “Jay” (Joyce) Spillers of Oklahoma Boro and Carlton “Jack” (Marcy) Spillers of Washington Twp.; and sister, Fanny Ash of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving companion, Harold L. “Pete” Sandrock Sr.; brothers, James Spillers, Richard “Lee” Spillers, Clarence H. “Buddy” Spillers, Donald “Jiggs” Spillers, and Norman Wade “Baldy” Spillers; and sister, Jean Branthoover.
Carol’s family would like to thank her special caregiver, DJ “Betty” Acre, and Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, for the love and support they provided to their loved one.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM & 6 to 8 PM on Monday, June 21, and from 9 to 10 AM on Tuesday, June 22 in the Ross G. Walker Funeral Home Ltd., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 11 AM at The United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington, 601 Fifth Ave., New Kensington. Burial will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
