Carol Ann Aites Baker, 86, of New Kensington passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020. She was born December 6, 1934 in New Kensington to the late James and Ruth Jones Aites.
Carol was a graduate of New Kensington High School Class of 1952. She worked at the New Kensington YMCA for many years as a fitness and aerobics instructor before her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the United Presbyterian Church, a group leader for the Girl Scouts of America, and was active in the PTA. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, ice skating, listening to music, collecting cut glass, and gathering seashells on the beach. Carol also had a passion for photography.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Kerry) Coble of Lancaster; and son, Jim (Lisa) Polczynski, of Cornwall; seven grandchildren, Sara (Chadwin) Miller, Joel Coble, Ethan (Chrissy) Polczynski, Lauren Falsetta, Benjamin (Felcia) Polczynski, Kate Sowinski, and Averii Polczynski; and five great-grandchildren, Matea Polczynski, Porter, Winfield, Radnor, and Kemper Falsetta.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Baker Jr., who passed away earlier this year; and sister, Barbara Reed.
