Betty Ohl Bloser, 99, of Cabot, formerly of New Kensington, went to sleep with her Lord on the night of Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries. Born March 21, 1922 in Buffalo Township, she was one of two daughters to the late Ralph Milton and Estelle Mae Peters Ohl.
Betty was a graduate of Tarentum High School, Class of 1940 and a woman staunch in her faith, she was a longtime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Kensington. She married the love of her life, C. Melvin Bloser, on April 9, 1946, and they spent the next 60 years building their family and happily married to each other until his passing on May 18, 2006.
Betty was an accomplished needlewoman (needlepoint, counted cross stitch, knitting, sewing). Her magnificent cross stitch pieces adorn many of her family and friend’s walls, and they will always signify a remembrance of her and her superb skills and passion of the art. She reveled in cooking, gardening, playing bridge, as well as being an avid reader. For many years, she loved her quaint summers living in a cottage on Crooked Creek, where she could practice her love of gardening, as well as canning. It was also a great place to raise her children!
Betty was a great mother and grandmother, a kindhearted soul, and was always concerned about the welfare of others. Her gentle kindness made her a popular resident at Concordia where she spent her remaining 12 years. The world will be a much lonelier place without her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her three children, Ronald (Rose Marie) Bloser of Ford City, PA, Charles (Nancy) Bloser of Windsor, CO, and Barbara (Alan) Binder of Cranford, NJ; eight grandchildren, Ryan Bloser, Sean and Amanda Katona, Tracey, Joy, and Aaron (Lisa) Bloser, and Alexander and Brooke Binder; and two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Katona and Kinsley Bloser.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Fern.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 221 Ridge Ave., New Kensington, PA 15068
