Barbara J. Tweedy

Barbara Joan Tweedy, 74 years young, of New Kensington, passed away on July, 14th, 2021 at home surrounded by her three daughters and granddaughter. 

She is preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband Justin Tweedy, her parents Barbara M. Hornetter, and Walter R. Hornetter.

Barbara was a proud mother to Danielle C. Proch, Jennifer M. Philie, and Erin E. Dietrick  (her husband Ralph Dietrick.) She was a loving Gammie to her seven grandchildren; Jamie L. Lebak (Kenneth Lebak), Jonathan Proch, Zachary Proch, Jason Philie, Colin Dietrick, Brynlee Dietrick, and Brooklyn Dietrick.  Barbara was blessed with three great grandchildren as well; Adia, Ella and Luke Lebak. She leaves behind many cherished cousins and countless dear friends. Barbara also leaves behind her fiercely loved dogs; you could always find them cuddled together at the end of the day.

To say Barbara touched many lives would be a vast understatement. If she wasn’t volunteering her time to a local church and food bank, you could find Barbara on the hunt for antiques and timeless artifacts to sell at a local antique store. She always had a way with words and would come up with colorful idioms because she treasured making people laugh. Most of all, she loved spending time and making memories with her family.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
