Barbara Lou (Menyo) Matt

Barbara Lou Matt, 89, of Plum Borough, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, in her home.

She was born June 19, 1937 in Rosco, Washington County to the late John & Elizabeth Santo Menyo, graduated from Rosco High School and was a longtime resident of the Greensburg Road area of Plum Borough.

Mrs. Matt was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of New Kensington, was a lifetime member of the Humane Society and enjoyed collecting antiques, flower gardening, collecting dolls and making quilts.  

Surviving are two sons, Drew Allen Matt of Penn Hills and Robert Matt Jr. of Natrona Heights; brother Bill (Sandy) Menyo of Rosco; two grandchildren, Richard and Leticia Matt; great-granddaughter Nina Matt; special friend Elizabeth Jane Maloney of Lower Burrell; and her feline friend, Goldie.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Matt Sr. in 2013; and a brother Richard Menyo.

Viewing will be on Saturday, June 27, from 3pm until a funeral outside of Mass at 6pm in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington.  Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
