It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aziza Jardak Saliba, formerly of New Kensington, Pa, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on December 13th, 2024, at the age of 88. Her unwavering love, kindness, and strength will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Born on June 16, 1936, in Beirut, Lebanon, Aziza’s life was a testament to resilience, faith, and devotion. She immigrated to the United States, where she built a life filled with love and purpose, always cherishing her Lebanese heritage.
Educated at the American University of Beirut, Aziza immigrated to the United States to study at the University of Pittsburgh where she received her master's degree in science.
Aziza was a deeply devoted member of St. George Orthodox Church in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found immense joy and fulfillment in her church community, and her steadfast beliefs were an inspiration to all who knew her.
A pillar of strength, Aziza’s home was a sanctuary of comfort and love. She welcomed everyone with open arms, a warm heart, and a meal prepared with unmatched care. Her passion for cooking, volunteering and her remarkable ability to find beauty in life’s simplest moments will be cherished forever.
Her greatest joy was her family. Aziza is survived by her two sons, Michael (Elizabeth) of Evanston, IL, David (Leslie) of Beaver Falls, PA, her five grandchildren, Olivia, Veronica, Michael, Samuel, and Henry, and many cherished relatives and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped through her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Saliba.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Cambridge Village and Heartland Hospice for their love and care of Aziza.
Viewing will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 5-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. A Trigsagion Service wiill be held at 7:30 PM in the funeral home, on Monday. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, at 10AM in St. George Orthodox Church, 1150 Leishman Avenue, New Kensington. Anyone attending the service should go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
