William C. Watt

August 25, 1930 ~ September 22, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old


William C. Watt, 87, of The Villages, Florida, and formerly of Allegheny Township and Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully, on Friday, September 22, 2017.  He had lived in Florida since 2010. He was born in New Kensington on August 28, 1930, to the late William D. & Cora Luffy Watt, graduated from Ken-Hi in 1948, and joined the Navy where he was a radioman on Navy planes during the Korean Conflict.  After serving a stint in the Navy, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors Degree.  Mr. Watt was a supervisor for L.M.V. Leasing Company in Aspinwall, and afterwards worked for XEROX where he was in charge of the their automotive fleet for the entire United States.  He retired from XEROX after working there for 31 years. A member of the First United Methodist Church of New Kensington, he enjoyed woodworking, and building puzzles. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Lois Yeager Watt; children, Lynn Carpenter of Lady Lake, FL, and William D. (Monica) Watt of NYC; and three grandchildren, Melissa, Amanda and William. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Roy Watt and a sister, June Kitzer. Viewing will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be conducted by Rev. Sharon Waltenbaugh on Friday at 11 AM.  Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 533 Linden Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068, will be appreciated
