Tanika Lee Burke

Tanika Lee Burke, 43, of Arnold, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2017. She was born September 18, 1974 in New Kensington to Thomas Lee Burke of Arnold and Darla Louise Smith of New Kensington, and was a 1993 graduate of Valley High School in New Kensington.  She also received an Associate Degree from the Newport Business Institute. Miss Burke was a clerk for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Driver’s Licensing Center in Plum Boro and also was a clerk for the Northco Vocational Training Center in the RIDC Park.  She belonged to the Canaan Outreach Ministry in New Kensington, enjoyed playing bingo, and had traveled all over the world. Tanika leaves behind her beloved daughter Aaliyah S. Burke, besides being survived by her mother and father, she is also survived by her step father, Elder Paul Eugene Wingate; sisters, Tymonica and Salise Brasfield, Jazman, Destiny, Leshunah, Simone, Paris and Albany Smith, Samantha Slusser, Keyara Moody, Juanisha Worthey, Jasmine Reid, Meliesha Brown, Angel Flatt & Missy Wilhoit; and her brothers, Avery, George and Lawrence “T”.  Also surviving are her aunts, Deborah Jones and Sandra Tolbert, with whom she had a special bond with, and a host of special cousins and friends. Tanika was called home to our Lord and Savior too soon.  She will be truly missed by everyone that knew her and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.  Viewing will be on Friday from 10 AM until services at 12 Noon at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Asa W. Roberts Way (formerly Fourth Avenue) New Kensington.  Officiating will be the Elder Ronald White.  Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Arraignments were entrusted to ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington P.A 15068.
