Reed A. "Dude" Lindemuth

Reed A. “Dude” Lindemuth, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2017. He was born November 2, 1926 in Arnold to the late Reed and Stella Shearer Lindemuth and was a 1944 graduate of Ken-Hi. He was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII, and served in Guam as a Sergeant for three years. Reed worked for Braeburn Steel for 41 years, retiring in 1988.  He was the maintenance supervisor and also worked as the union’s recording secretary. He was a life member of the Lower Burrell VFW, and was a life member and served as Commander of the Davies American Legion Post 868 also in Lower Burrell, for 26 years. Surviving are his sons, Barry (Trish) Lindemuth, Randy (Jean) Lindemuth and Timothy (Sylvia) Lindemuth; four grandchildren, Jamie (Jim) Rydeski, David (Julie) Lindemuth, Nicole Lindemuth and Michelle Powers; great-grandchildren, Jim & Jillian.  He also had four siblings, ruth, Raymond, Richard and Bonnie Cimino. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Carnahan Lindemuth, in 2014. Viewing will be  2-4 & 6-8 PM on Monday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Tuesday at 10 AM.  Rev. Dean Ward, pastor of The River - A Community Church will officiate.  The American Legion will hold a service for their late member Monday at 7PM.  Burial and military honors conferred by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
