Marcella I. Scalise

Marcella I. Scalise, 85, of New Kensington passed away peacefully Monday, November 12, 2018.  She was born September 7, 1933, in Natrona to the late Marcel and Helen Turoski Gaworski.

She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church of New Kensington and enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Pamela Tantlinger of Wilmerding, Mark (Renee “Shireen") Scalise of Leeper, and Anthony (Rachel) Scalise of New Kensington: eleven grandchildren, Amanda Tantlinger, Robert Tantlinger, Jessica Tantlinger, Morgan Benco, Tyler Scalise, Cody Scalise, Mackenzie Scalise, Aidan Scalise, Meagan Scalise, Nathan William Scalise, and Orion Fields; several great-grandchildren; brother Ted Gaworski; and sister-in-law, Eva Gaworski; as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Scalise Sr.; son, Frank J. Scalise Jr.; siblings, Dorothy  Sullivan, Irene Kesler, Jennie “Jane” Collings, Alfred “Fritz” Gaworski, Edward Gaworski, and a brother in infancy.

Viewing  will be Thursday, Nov. 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington,  where prayers of transfer will be held Friday, November 16 at 9:30 am followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 100 Freeport Road,  New Kensington.   Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
