James A. Threatte, 71, of Arnold, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018.
Born September 30, 1946 in New Kensington to the late James A. Threatte Sr. & Beloved Lillian Taylor (Baby Doll), he was a 1965 graduate of Ken-Hi, and entered the US Navy *as a Hospital Corpsman Second Class* and served during the Vietnam War as a medic, until 1969. He was recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
*He then graduated from Goldey Beacom College, Wilmington, Delaware with his Associates in Arts in Business Management in 1975.*
He worked for 30 years in the melt shop as a laborer at Allegheny Ludlum in Brackenridge, retiring in 2007.
He was an associate minister at Bethlehem Temple Faith Church, Arnold, affiliated with True Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ Incorporated and served as Chairman of the Young People, Superintendent of Sunday School Service and President of the Trustees Board.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Wanda D. Hughley Threatte; children, Tamika Hughley, Raymone (Raymond) Thomas, Symone Threatte, and James E. Threatte (Elizabeth), all of Arnold; grandchildren, Alaiyah, Ayame, Jaylen, Amaya, Raydn, Rayne, Adrian, Raygan, Raycen, Sevanah and Audriana; and siblings, Michael (Sharon) Lubiano, Anthony (Cathy) Lubiano, Juanita (William) Hughley, and Lillian (Bishop Mervin) Armstead, Sister-in-Law, Marilyn Lubiano, all of New Kensington; and a host of nieces and nephews; Best friends Howard Clements, Robert Chambers and the late Fred Vining.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Michael Lubiano, brother, Glenn Lubiano, and sister Leslie Lubiano.
Viewing will be 2-4p Friday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, and 5-8p Friday in Bethlehem Temple Faith Church, 1374 Fourth Avenue, Arnold. A funeral service will be held 11a Saturday in Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Asa W. Roberts Way, New Kensington. Pastor Bishop Hill will officiate. Interment with military honors accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
