Elizabeth Kabazie, 103, of Lower Burrell passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. She was born February 23, 1915, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late Tom and Tillie Bahsa Canaan.
Elizabeth was a 1933 Graduate of Ken-Hi. She managed the Fashion Hosiery Stores in New Kensington and Natrona Heights. She was a long time member of the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in New Kensington, and was the past president of the Myrrh-Bearers Society. Elizabeth very much enjoyed baking with the women at church in order to support the church. She was fortunate enough to stay in her own home until the age of 103.
Survivors include her son, Gary T. (Juanita M.) Pallone; granddaughters, Dr. Melanie Beth Pallone, Esq. and Susan C. (Douglas) Fellner; and great-granddaughter, Harper Claire Fellner.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a very joyful man and husband of 70 years, William Kabazie in 2011. She now joins her dancing partner in heaven. Mrs. Kabazie was also preceded in death by her grandson, Gary Thomas Pallone Jr. in 1975; and a brother in infancy, John Canaan.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations to St. George Orthodox Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Care At Home, Allegheny Health Network Hospice, and Belair Nursing Home for their wonderful care.
Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 29 at 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 1150 Leishman Ave., New Kensington. Father Meletios Zafaran will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., was entrusted with the arrangements.
