William Burke

William Burke, Jr., 77, of New Kensington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was born August 28, 1938 in New Kensington, a son of the late William Sr. & Irene Kendall Burke, and was a graduate of Ken-Hi. He was a veteran of the US Army and spent almost 20 years in the service. William was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington. He is survived by four children, Anthony, Kenneth, Angela and Mark; six grandchildren; twin brother Willard Burke, and other siblings, Thomas Burke, Henrietta Hyde and Kathleen Thomas; and special sister-in-law, Mary Burke, and her fiance Al Hunter, both of whom cared for Mr. Burke the past several years. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Wendell William Burke; and siblings Loretta Smith, Robert Burke, Sr., Frank Burke and Wendell Burke. Viewing will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held 10 AM Saturday. Burial will be private.
