Virginia W Morgan

December 30, 1917 ~ December 20, 2017 (age 99) 99 Years Old


Virginia W. Morgan, 99, of Allegheny Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, just 10 days shy of her 100th birthday. She was born December 30, 1917 in Dayton (Armstrong County), to the late George & Dorothy Smith Wall, and was an Allegheny Township resident since 1940. Mrs. Morgan was a lifetime member of the Church of God in Lower Burrell and their Christian Women’s Society, and also sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School there.  She loved her church and all the activities of the church. She was the head cook and dietician for the Kiski Area School District for more than 20 years, retiring in 1984. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything.  She loved to travel and had traveled to Alaska and Hawaii and Nova Scotia, and enjoyed cooking and music and working in her yard.  At age 92, she went for her first motorcycle ride with her son Denzel. Survivors include her three sons, Dennis L. (Lucinda) Morgan of Mayport, Darrell E. (Ginger) Morgan of Allegheny Township, and Denzel E. (Kathy) Morgan of Conway S.C.; five grandchildren, Ginger, Justin, Shawn, Darrell and Jason; and 12 grandchildren, Corra, Bryce, Jacob, Gina, Justace, Austin, Noah, Zane, Dylan, Olyvya, Katy and Caleb; and siblings, LaVern Wall and Geraldine Robertson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Morgan who died in 1964; a sister, Beatrice; and a grandson Jeremy Michael Morgan. Viewing will be on Saturday from 10AM until services at 12 Noon in Church of God, 273 Chester Drive, Lower Burrell.  Her pastor, Rev. Douglas Crump and  Rev. Shawn Morgan, her grandson will co-officiate.  Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.  Those desiring may contribute to the Church of God in Mrs. Morgan’s memory.  ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., of New Kensington was entrusted with the arrangements.
