Violet Edith Truby, 91, of Allegheny Township, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018.
She was born October 23, 1926 in the Drennen section of Plum Borough, to the late Snowden & Bessie Christy Beacom.
“Edie” was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Murrysville and sang in the choir there. She was a medical transcriptionist for Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights for 35 years, retiring at age 75. She enjoyed bowling, baking and especially raising flowers in her flower garden. She loved her dogs.
She is survived by her husband George Neal Truby, Jr., who she married October 28, 1950; her sister, Beulah Wills; sister-in-law Dorothy Beacom; and nieces and nephews, Leonard (Rosalie) Beacom, Deborah (Dallas) Vandevort, Jane (Howard) Gordon, Mark (Cathy) Beacom, Robert (Millie) Wills, Jessie (John) Loverti, and Tim (Kim) Wills.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Leonard and Lloyd Beacom and two sisters, Alice Shearer and Belva Shepherd.
Viewing will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. A funeral service will be held in Christ Lutheran Church, 5330 Logan Ferry Road, Murrysville on Friday at 10 AM. Anyone attending the service is asked to go directly to the Church. Burial will be in Hankey Church Cemetery, Murrysville.
