Thomas J. Myers

Thomas J. Myers, 69, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2016. 

He was born in New Kensington, on November 30, 1946 to the late Stanley M. & Dolores Phillips Myers, and was a 1964 graduate of Ken-Hi and a 1970 graduate of Robert Morris College.

Mr. Myers was the co-owner of the Arnold Dairy Queen and was a basketball coach for many years at Valley High School, Burrell High School, Highlands High School, and Penn State, New Kensington.  He was a five time Valley News Dispatch “Coach of the Year.”  Tom was still providing coaching advice to numerous coaches in the area and enjoyed watching basketball games.

Surviving are his sister, DeeAnn Leebel of Lower Burrell; and two nephews, Aaron and Matthew Leebel. 

Viewing will be on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a blessing service will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 in Mt.
