Thomas H. Barker

Thomas H. Barker Jr., 83, of Allegheny Township, passed away peacefully on November 23, at home. He was born June 19, 1933, in New Kensington to the late Thomas H. Barker Sr. and Laura Michael-Barker of New Kensington. Thomas played minor league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals, he was an avid golfer and member of the Hillcrest Country Club for 42 continuous years. He was a deacon and a Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church of New Kensington and a current member of Orchard Hill Church of Wexford. He enjoyed facilitating small groups at both churches and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Thomas is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eileen White-Barker; his brother, Larry (Barb) Barker of York, PA; his four sons, Randy (Darleen) Barker of New Kensington, Jeff (Teri) Barker of New Bern, N.C., Greg (Beth) Barker of New Kensington, Dave (Tracy) Barker of New Kensington; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, Nov. 27 at ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD. 217 Freeport Rd., New Kensington where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, Nov. 28.
