Ruth L. Cable

Ruth L. Cable, 94, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2016.
 
She was born July 10, 1922 in New Kensington to the late Frank& Grace Yund Cable and was a graduate of Ken-Hi, and the Citizens General Hospital School of Nursing.
 
Miss Cable was a Registered Nurse at Citizens General Hospital for one year after which she was a nurse for the offices of Dr. Farah, Dr. Antoon and Dr. Gupta for 48 years, retiring in 1991. 
 
She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Kensington, many groups in the church, and enjoyed all church activities.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading, especially her daily Bible scripture reading. 
 
Survivors include her sister, Evelyn Grace Harter of New Kensington and many nieces and nephews.
 
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Wayne L. Cable, Neal L. Cable, Donald L. Cable, Russell E. Cable and Jean L. Vogel.
 
Viewing will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in Ross G. Walker Funeral Home LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. A service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in First Lutheran Church, 221 Ridge Avenue, New Kensington and viewing will be one-half hour prior to the time of service. Anyone attending the service is asked to go directly to the church. Rev. Alfred Petrill will officiate and Rev. Richard P. Grance will assist with the services. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Boro.
