Ruth Marie Artman, 92, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2018, on her 92nd birthday. She was born in 1927 to the late Joseph & Opal Stone Tusing, and was raised by her father and step-mother, the late Pauline Teyssier Tusing, after her mother’s untimely death, when Ruth was three years old. She graduated from Ken-Hi in 1944. Mrs. Artman worked for ALCOA during WWII and was a longtime cook for the former Clementine’s Restaurant and Bonello’s Restaurant, both in Lower Burrell. She also was a caretaker for several local elderly people. She was a longtime member of the Arnold United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Lions Club and the VFW, visiting the River’s Casino and playing cards and bowling. Her husband, Harold E. Artman, passed away in 2005, as well as a son, Gary W. Artman. Surviving are her children, Harold Eugene “Gene” (Cheryl) Artman Jr. of Blairsville, Richard K. (Darlene M.) Artman Sr., of Tarentum, Jeffrey C. (Cassandra) Artman of Lower Burrell and Gayle M. (David) Harbarger of Apollo; 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Courtney, Richard Jr., Lisa Marie, Gary Jr., Gregory, Crystal, Julia, Emily, Natalie and Jenna; and nine great-grandchildren; as well as her brother, Charles Tusing, of Arnold. Viewing will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Wednesday, January 31, in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Thursday, February 1, at 10AM.
