Philip J Hans

Philip John Hans, 68, of Springdale Township, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at home. He was born August 15, 1948 in Tarentum to the late Julius & Lorraine Sowinski Hans., and was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Phil was Roadmaster for Springdale Township for 30 years and maintained their 23 miles of roads.  He also served as a Springdale Township Commissioner for four years, after which he consulted for the Township.  He also was a volunteer fire fighter and life member of the Allegheny Valley Volunteer Fire Company. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Linda L. Weiss Hans; son Timothy Jon Hans and his wife Lindsey of Brackenridge; twin grandchildren, Liliana & Liam; and a half brother Charles “Butch” Witas of Lower Burrell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Julius J. Hans; and sister Annie Neusch. Services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:30 AM in Allison Park Church, Deer Lakes Campus, 908 Little Deer Creek Road, (next to Shop-n-Save) Russellton, PA 15076.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the church.  ROSS G.
