Mary J. Berecin

Mary J. Berecin, 87, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. She was born June 19, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Harry & Rose Mauer Romack. Mrs. Berecin was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles #533 of New Kensington. She loved to play cards, golf, visit Florida and play dice in the casinos and at home, but most of all she cherished her time with her grandchildren, Nicolette, Preston and Danica Berecin. Besides her grandchildren, she is survived by her son Bradley E. Berecin and his wife Regina Engler Berecin, of New Kensington; and siblings, Thomas Romack, Katherine “Kay” Sabatini, Elizabeth Shields, Agnes Gasparro, twin sister Dorothy “Dee” Smith, Evelyn Smith, Harry Romack, Jr.. Joyce DeVando and Roseann “Cookie” French. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Berecin, in 2010; and a sister, Ann Pazak. Viewing, will be Monday, May 23, from 9 AM until time of service at 11 AM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington.
