Martha R. Tomazewski

Martha R. Tomaszewski, 89, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 4, 1927 in New Kensington, a daughter of the late Adam & Jennie Stuczynski Kaminski. Mrs. Tomaszewski was a homemaker and also worked for Rocchieta’s Market in Arnold. She was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church of New Kensington and the Christian Mother’s of the Church. She also sang in the Church Choirs. Martha also belonged to the Polish National Alliance Group 553 of New Kensington, and enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her family and helping out at the church. Survivors include two daughters Phyllis A. Irvine of Waco, TX and Patricia (David) Merriwether of New Kensington; four grandchildren, John Irvine, Victoria Irvine, Fran Pugliese and Joseph Tomaszewski; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Irvine, Audrey Irvine, Vionno Pugliese and Charlotte Tomaszewski. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chester A. Tomaszewski; and four brothers, Bruno, Joseph, Adam and Edward Kaminski. Viewing will be on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD. (successor to John F. Krupa Funeral Home), 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where prayers of transfer will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, 857 Kenneth Avenue, New Kensington.
