John R. Schreckengost

John R. “Luke” Schreckengost, 65, of New Kensington, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016.

He was born June 11, 1951 in Lower Burrell, to the late Floyd & Rose Usko Schreckengost.

Luke was a laborer for Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge and several other steel mills.  He was active as a football and baseball coach for the ArKen and Twin City teams and other teams.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing and most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was very active with the former Dayspring Christian Center in Brackenridge. 

Surviving are his children, Jennifer Schreckengost and Anthony Schreckengost both of Texas, Joshua J. (Shannon) Schreckengost of Verona and Nessa S. (Timothy) Gregg of Arnold; grandchildren, Natahlia and Andrew Schreckengost, Ethan, Mason, and Jackson Novaleski, and Ryan and Brady Gregg; and his siblings, Emily Clee, Lillian Reith, Katherine Hrivnak and Stephan Schreckengost.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 29, from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington.  Burial will be private.  To leave an online condolence visit www.rossgwalker.com
