Ezell McGee

August 14, 1925 ~ August 15, 2016 (age 91) 91 Years Old


Ezell McGee, 91, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2016.

 

He was born August 14, 1925, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Walter & Roxie Matthews McGee. and was an Alle-Kiski Valley resident since 1940.  Mr. McGee proudly served in the US Army for several years during WWII. 

 

Ezell was a coal cart dumper for US Steel, Edgar Thompson Works, and finished up his career in Saxonburg.  He worked for them for 37 years. 

 

Survivors include his wife Mattie L. Mahaffey McGee; children, Diana (Reverend Marvin) Hill and Dwain (Brenda) McGee, both of New Kensington, Josie (Bradley) Nelson of Mt. Lebanon, and Lloyd (Tani) Massie of Penn Hills; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; his brother James Otis McGee of Tarentum; two step-daughters, Rita and Florine; and a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 

Also preceding him in death, besides his parents, were siblings, Lula, Wassie, Lillie Mae, Sarah Dell, Wardell, and Curtis; and his first wife Annabelle.

 

He was a member of Evangel Heights Assembly of God Church in Sarver the past four years.  A Christian, he found the Lord at an early age and was a founding member of Gospelite Outreach Ministry of New Kensington, where he served as a deacon.  He enjoyed all Pittsburgh sports and especially enjoyed family gatherings. 

 

Viewing will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington.  A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM in Evangel Heights Assembly of God, 120 Beale Road, Sarver 16055.  Anyone attending the service is asked to go directly to the church.  Private burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.  To leave an online condolence visit www.rossgwalker.com
