Elizabeth R. Teichman

Elizabeth R. “Betty” Teichman, 82, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 19, 2016. She was born May 16, 1934, in Acmetonia, to the late Alexander & Ruth George Walmsley, grew up in Acme and Harmar, and was a New Kensington resident since 1947. Mrs. Teichman was a US Army veteran and served as a corporal in the WAC (Women Army Corps) from 1952-1954. She belonged to the Arnold United Methodist Church, the VFW of Lower Burrell, Hunters and Fishermans Club of New Kensington and enjoyed reading, bowling, all Pittsburgh sports, camping and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Kathleen R. (Raymond) Cochran of Lower Burrell, Thomas L. (Gloria) Teichman Jr. of Kittanning, Kim Marie (Frank) Swanger of Arnold, and David B. (Julie) Teichman of New Kensington; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas L. Teichman on October 23, 1998; and her brother Alexander Walmsley. Viewing will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held Friday at 10 AM.
