Doris V. Covey

Doris V. Covey, 90, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 23, 2017. She was born on March 26, 1926 to the late James and Inez (Stone) McKendry of New Kensington. She was known for baking her homemade buns, which she gave away to her family and loved to tend her flower garden. Surviving are her children, Inez (Frank) Harpster, Judy (David) Laskey, William (Mary Lou) Covey III, Timothy Covey and Charla (Chuck) Bash; her grandchildren, Traci (John) Sicopz, Doris Laskey, Holly Urick, Bryan (Leslie) Laskey, William (Tina) Covey IV, Jayson (Jennifer) Covey, Ryan Covey, Kristin (Sean) O’Dell, Jamie (Chris) Teranna, Judy Beth (Mike) Ring, Matthew Covey, Amber (TJ) O’Sullivan, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and her best friend of over 60 years, Betty Devlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Covey Jr.; a son, James T. Covey; two grandsons, Thomas and William Schrock; and her nine siblings. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 on Sunday, March 26, at ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE LTD., 217 Freeport Road New Kensington, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27, at 11:00 AM, Rev. Sharon Waltenbaugh, officiating.
