Donna J. Hoey

Donna Jean Gregg Hoey, 65, of Plum Borough, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

She was born December 14, 1951 in New Kensington, to Herb & Wanda Sleagle Gregg, and was a longtime Plum resident.

Donna was a wonderful cook and owned Miss Donna’s Diner in Springdale Township. She would often feed her customers regardless of their ability to pay and always worried about other people before herself.  She was also the Tri-State Women’s Arm Wrestling Champion. 

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, James Joseph Hoey Sr.; her sons, James J. (girlfriend Jennifer Mazer) Hoey Jr., of Hyde Park, and Lonnie M. (Melissa) Hoey of Northside, Pittsburgh.

Siblings include her siblings, Guy (Maxine) Gregg of Upper Burrell Township, Deb (Bruce) Smith of Plum, Rex (Donna) Gregg of Upper Burrell Township, Marilyn (Chris) Riggle of Apollo, Roy (Paula) Gregg of Upper Burrell Township and Herb (girlfriend Shannon Babinsack) of New Kensington.
