Beverly M. Moore

Beverly M. Moore, 91, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Thurs., Feb. 16, 2017. She was born on April 26, 1925 to the late George F. Preus and Cora May Johnston of New Kensington. She was a 1944 graduate of New Kensington High School. Beverly enjoyed cooking, sewing, ceramics, collecting cookbooks, and watching the Pirates. She kept her mind sharp by doing word search and crossword puzzles up until the time of her death. She was a life-long member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Kensington, was originally in the youth choir and then moved onto the adult choir which she participated in until she was in her 70’s. She was also the financial recording secretary for the church. Survivors include her brother, Marlin (Evelyn) Preus of Lower Burrell; her son, James (Margaret Cost) Moore of New Kensington; her daughter, Alice (Barry) Bash of Biloxi, MS; her son-in-law, Robert Kissick of New Kensington; her grandson, Barry (Liz) Bash Jr. of Biloxi, MS; her granddaughter Jane (Mike) Reinert of Hampton Township; her granddaughter Bethany Kissick; her grandsons, Chris (Jessica) Moore of New Kensington, Ryan (Brittaney) Moore of Mars, and Benjamin Moore of New Kensington; and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Clyde E. Moore; a brother, James G. Preus; her sister Cora Jane Preus-Meyer; her daughter, Beverly M. Moore-Kissick; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Szyroki-Moore; her grandson Douglas E. Bash. A funeral service will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 221 Ridge Ave, New Kensington on Tuesday, February 21 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
